In my first interview set up I didn’t consider background noise and the background setting as much as I should have and therefore the quality of my recording isn’t up to standard. The background noise cancels out the interview. The background for this shot is too distracting and therefore a viewer wouldn’t concentrate on the interview. The natural lighting was good however. The positioning of the interviewee was also decent.
On my second practice at this I changed location in order to reduce background noise and the background setting is blank, therefore the viewers won’t be distracted. I also setup the interviewee with a clip mic to improve the quality of the sound. This also helps to reduce background noise. I also set up an LED light, which is designed to improve the lighting if the natural light isn’t quite adequate, but this however made the lighting worse in my opinion. I also think that the positioning of the interviewee was slightly better. Overall, I believe my second shot is a lot better than my first.
