Philippe Coutinho- Seeker Or Settler?

Philippe Coutinho is “special in so many ways”

Involved in one of the most publicised transfer saga’s in the last 15 years, Coutinho’s future has come under huge speculation with fans predicting all sorts of outcomes.

Denied a move to FC Barcelona in the summer, he is only just being reinstated in the Liverpool first team after suffering from back complaints.

The 25 year old has come under a lot of scrutiny in recent weeks with some supporters losing respect for the Brazilian and claiming he is just another lucrative contract seeker at the worlds biggest, rather than a loyal, self respecting footballer.

Coutinho, having been reinstated in the team has since re gathered form and is back to his best, scoring 2 goals in 2 games and has vowed to give his “maximum” for club and its supporters. He said: “I’m here to defend the colours, to give my maximum.”

His journey Began back in 2009 when he was playing for his local team Club Vasco De Gala in Rio De Janeiro at the age of 16. Just 1 year later he earned a move to Inter Milan, where he struggled to edge into the first team.

Despite this he still showed signs of the quality he has and a few years further down the line in his Milan career he started to break and he dazzled as ever. this earns him an £8.5 million move to Liverpool.

Since joining Liverpool in January 2013 he has been an integral part to the Merseyside club, despite being over shadowed in his first 1 and a half seasons by the iconic SAS triplet of 2013/14.

Liverpool’s ‘Little Magician’ as dubbed by fans and pundits, formally handed in a transfer request this summer, despite vowing his future to the club in January after signing a new lucrative 5 year contract, stating: “You define the success of a player by his loyalty or his titles.” This caused an uproar with fans labelling him a ‘snake’ after he then revealed his desire to leave just half a year later.

Liverpool Held firm however and kept hold of their man, after a clear message from both manager Juergen Klöpp and the Liverpool board that he was not for and he has continued with his impeccable form. Barcelona may come back for Coutinho in January or next summer and the Brazil star may get get his dream move to the Catalan giants and secure a lucrative contract.
